HBCU Battle of the Brains
Description
The HBCU Battle of the Brains is looking to add a Fall 2018/Spring 2019 Social Media Intern to our growing communications team. The ideal candidate must love marketing, have a strong knowledge of social media platforms, enjoy creating original written, photo, and video content and be based in Austin, Texas.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with social media marketing campaigns, strategy and day-to-day activities for HBCU Battle of the Brains by focusing on Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook
- Engage in conversations and promptly answering question online
- Help to maintain a master social media editorial calendar
- Create social media content, campaigns and calls-to-action that drive our audience to our website, other social platforms and our upcoming newsletter
- Analyze social media performance and making recommendations for changes
Required skills:
- Must have a passion for social media marketing
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, journalism or another related field is required
- At least one year of social media strategy/management is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills via an agency job/internship or client experience is a plus
- Familiarity with Hootsuite is preferred
- Graphic design experience a major plus, but not required
- Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to think/act quickly
